“Ask a Doctor” with the Hazel Medical Team

Hazel was founded on the mission to ensure quality access to healthcare for ALL children. In order to reach all children, Hazel partners with school districts across the US to deliver remote doctor visits in school or at home. We team with parents or school nurses to provide on-demand telehealth visits for K-12 students, for help with anything from a tummy or headache to asthma and more.

During these times of COVID-19, parents have many questions that are not urgent enough for a trip to the doctor, but are still weighing heavily on their minds. At Hazel, we have had a number of school district partners and parents reach out with questions for our doctors:

  • Will looking at a screen this many hours a day have a long term impact on my child’s health?
  • How can I help my child cope with change?
  • What’s the latest information on COVID-19 and school-age children?

In response, we have launched Ask a Doctor, a weekly webinar for parents.  Each Ask a Doctor session will focus on a specific topic relevant to the topics on parents today, offer health tips, and provide time to answer parents’ questions.

To serve all families, Hazel is offering sessions in parents’ native languages in the school districts we serve.

"This is more than just a way for our parents to access the information they are seeking today. It’s also a way for families to meet our Hazel medical team, see who we are, and build skills and familiarity with using telemedicine - with the idea of seeing a doctor over a screen."
- Hazel Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rob Darzynkiewicz
